From taking photos and using online resources, to seeing examples of how Rachel has used images to inspire her artworks, this online course will help you to look at things in new ways. This course is perfect for starting you on your creative journey or for developing fresh ideas.

See and think about the world differently

This course is all about encouraging you to see and think about imagery in new ways. You will be shown how ideas can be sparked off from everyday things such as textures in your house and garden. I also give advice on how to organise your photos so they are easily accessible and how Pinterest can be used for finding a huge array of more unusual images.

Join me in exploring imagery and sharing ideas of how it can be used

I have been teaching art and textiles for 25 years and love passing on knowledge and inspiring others to be creative. I am also a professional artist, regularly exhibiting and undertaking commissions. My creative practice spans many disciplines from portraiture, drawing and painting to embroidery and textiles.

What I love doing above all else is combining different types of artforms and experimenting, hence my love of working in mixed media. In this course I share with you examples of my varied work and the images that helped to inspire them.

There is something for everyone from hand embroidery, mixed media, painting and experimental sampling.
